This product is intended for laboratory and research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. By purchasing, you confirm this product will be used exclusively for in-vitro research purposes.

Reconstitution Required

This peptide ships lyophilized (dry powder) and requires bacteriostatic water to reconstitute before use. BAC water is sold separately.

When This Product May Not Suit Your Research

  • If your research requires GMP-grade material for clinical applications — research-grade peptides are not intended for clinical use.
  • If your lab lacks proper cold storage (-20°C freezer) — this peptide's stability may be compromised at higher temperatures.
  • If your study protocol requires FDA-approved reference standards — contact USP or a certified reference material provider.

About Thymosin Alpha-1

About Thymosin Alpha-1

Thymosin Alpha-1 (CAS: 62304-98-7) is a naturally occurring 28-amino acid peptide first isolated from thymosin fraction 5, a preparation derived from bovine thymus tissue. It is an N-terminally acetylated peptide that plays a central role in immune system maturation and regulation. Thymosin Alpha-1 has been one of the most extensively studied thymic peptides, with research spanning several decades across immunology and infectious-disease research fields.

Mechanism of Action

Thymosin Alpha-1 acts as a biological response modifier, enhancing immune function through multiple pathways. It promotes the differentiation and maturation of dendritic cells, enhancing their antigen-presenting capacity. The peptide stimulates T-cell maturation from progenitor cells via upregulation of T-cell surface markers. It modulates cytokine production, shifting the balance toward Th1 responses, and activates natural killer (NK) cell cytotoxicity. Additionally, Thymosin Alpha-1 signals through Toll-like receptors (TLR-2 and TLR-9) on myeloid and plasmacytoid dendritic cells.
