What Is Dermorphin?
Dermorphin is a seven-amino-acid opioid peptide (Tyr-D-Ala-Phe-Gly-Tyr-Pro-Ser-NH2) originally isolated from the skin of South American tree frogs (Phyllomedusa). It is one of the most potent naturally occurring mu-opioid receptor (MOR) agonists known — approximately 30-40 times more potent than morphine in binding assays.
