Mechanism

The two pathways complement each other in a specific way — GLP-1 reduces caloric intake while glucagon increases energy expenditure and promotes hepatic fat clearance. That combination puts survodutide in a different position from GLP-1/GIP duals, which have stronger peripheral adipose effects but less pronounced hepatic activity.
